History

1946 December OSAKA ORGANIC CHEMICAL INDUSTRY LTD. established in Higashinari-ku, Osaka for the production and marketing of Canada balsam and cedar oil.
1947 March The company starts to produce and market organic solvents and reagents.
1951 November Tokyo Sub-Branch opened in Koto-ku, Tokyo to strengthen marketing in the Kanto area.
1953 December Switch from refined reagent products to petrochemical products progresses and the company starts producing acrylic acid.
1955 September Along with an expansion in the scale of production, Sekime Plant is established in Joto-ku, Osaka.
1958 July Head Office is moved to Sekime Plant and the latter is integrated with Head Office.
1961 July Along with an expansion in the scale of production, Head Office and plants are relocated to Kashiwara City in Osaka Prefecture.
October Osaka Office is established in Higashi-ku (currently Chuo-ku), Osaka to enhance sales activities.
1968 October Yachiyo Logistics Office is established in Yachiyo City, Chiba Prefecture to boost distribution in the eastern Japan region.
1969 April SHINKO ORGANIC CHEMICAL INDUSTRY LTD. (currently a consolidated subsidiary) is established, and production of some acetic esters is transferred there.
1981 June Along with an expansion in the scale of production, Matto Plant (currently Kanazawa Plant) is established in Matto city (currently Hakusan city), Ishikawa Prefecture.
1984 June Head Office is moved to Higashi-ku (currently Chuo-ku), Osaka and integrated with Osaka Office.
1987 July The company lists on the 2nd Section of the Osaka Securities Exchange.
1988 December Related company SANYU CHEMICAL COMPANY LTD. is established via a joint investment and produces methacrylic ester.
1997 June Matto Plant (currently Kanazawa Plant) acquires ISO 9002 certification.
1999 November Along with business expansion, land for plant is acquired in Yuza-machi, Akumi-gun, Yamagata Prefecture.
2000 July Sakata Plant is built in Yuza-machi, Akumi-gun, Yamagata Prefecture and full-fledged operation starts.
2001 January Kashiwara Plant (currently Osaka Office) acquires ISO 9002 certification.
2003 November The company expands departments subject to ISO at Head Office, Research & Development Section and the Lab, and acquires ISO 9001 certification.
December Tokyo Branch is moved and renamed Tokyo Office.
2005 February Kashiwara Plant is renamed Osaka Plant (currently Osaka Office), and Matto Plant is renamed Kanazawa Plant.
November The company lists on the 2nd Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
December Sakata Plant acquires ISO 14001 certification.
2006 January Kanazawa Plant acquires ISO 14001 certification.
2007 November Sakata Plant acquires occupational health and safety management system certification (OHSAS18001).
2011 December The company is appointed to the 1st Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2012 March OOC Shanghai Representative Office established in Shanghai, China.
2014 January Osaka Organic Chemical (Shanghai) Trading Ltd. (currently a consolidated subsidiary) was established in Shanghai, China.
December OOC Shanghai Representative Office was dissolved in Shanghai, China.
2015 December Osaka Plant is renamed as Osaka Office.
2018 April Related company SANYU CHEMICAL COMPANY LTD. is dissolved.
2021 June Closed Yachiyo office.
2022 April Listed on Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market.
2022 October Established Korea Office.
